Floor Polish

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic

If you have ever used a water based floor polish, you will be able to really appreciate the Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic. Why? Well, there are two types of floor polishes. Matt & glossy finishes. Some are suitable for commercial use and some are suitable for domestic and light commercial use. The main difference between Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic and other water based floor polish is the consistency. Straight away you notice that Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic is very thick and levels up small imperfection very fast. This semi gel thickness will enable you to use our amazing floor polish without a primer and you will be able to achieve spectacular results with only two coats. This saves money and time.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Where to use it

Another amazing quality of Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic is the fact that it can be used on wooden floors. It looks absolutely amazing on varnished floors. It restores badly worn wooden floors without the need for sanding it. Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic can be used to seal terrazzo floors, porous marble floors, travertine, limestone, ceramic tiles, wood floors (varnished only), laminate floors, lino floors, vinyl floors, amtico floors, cork floors, marmoleum floors & other floors. This top of the range water based floor polish can be used on domestic and high traffic floors.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – How to use it

You can use it as the main sealer over new floors or you can use it to restore and refresh already sealed floors. Either way, you will need to make sure that the surface is spotless, grease free and dry. Old floors that were sealed with water based floor polishes years back, will have to be stripped to remove all old patches of polish and imperfections. After you have the surface clean and ready for polishing, you will need the following tools:

1 flat mopping system & 1 flat microfiber mop head

gloves

Enough polish for the whole surface

A fan

Pour a good bit of floor polish on the floor, soak the flat mop head in it until the pad absorbs it all, then start applying it to the floor, the same way as you wash the floor. The surface has to look wet but not over wet. The floor polish should fully dry in a matter of hours but you can speed up the drying process with a fan or even a hair dryer. The second coat can be done about 1 hour later. In 99% of the cases, 2 coats will do the job, but some very rough floors might require a third coat to create a perfectly smooth surface. Same process is required for commercial and domestic floor polishing.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Durability

Floor polishing is a pretty disruptive operation and it cannot be done every week. You want it done once and you want it to last. Most low cost floor polishes contain about 5-15% acrylic content. This is the level of acrylic polymers per 5L bottle of polish. The higher the acrylic content, the more durable the floor polish is. Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic contains 25%, the highest level of acrylic by far. This floor polish provides unequalled durability, outstanding beautiful finish and it is anti slip as well. Many commercial buildings, pubs, offices, schools, gyms, etc. use Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic as their main floor polish for obvious reasons.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Gloss

You need your floor sealed well but you do not want your floor to look like laminate flooring. A bit of sheen is great but too much is just annoying. Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic will finish your floor in a semi gloss elegant finish. This semi gloss finish will create a wet look on your floors but it will not create the “mirror “ effect on your floors. Our floor polish does not yellow over time and it will not react with standard floor cleaning products. You can increase the sheen on your floor by polishing it with a high speed floor buffer (400+ RPM) and a white or a red floor pad.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Wood Floor Polishing

Some wood floors will wear off more in areas where there is a lot of traffic while areas with little traffic will still look perfect. No need to hire a floor sanding company to restore your wooden floor. You just need to deep clean your floor and re-build the protection on all damaged areas. You will have to deep clean your floors with proper wood floor cleaning products, you will need to dry the floor and you will need to apply 1-2 coats of Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic with a 2 hour break between the coats. The floor polish will penetrate the patchy areas and it will reseal the surface. By doing so, you prevent permanent water damage to your floors. Apply two thin coats with a flat mopping system. Go along the fibre of the wood to prevent streaks. Your floor will be ready for use within a couple hours.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Marmoleum Floor Polishing

Marmoleum floors are sold with a polish coat on it. This sealer will provide a decent level of protection but if the marmoleum floor is fitted in a school, a sports room or a very busy hall, some extra protection is required. Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic is the ideal marmoleum floor polish for a number of reasons. There are two types of marmoleum floors, sealed and unsealed. Older marmoleum floors are likely to have a thin coat of sealant over it while the new ones are likely to be unsealed. If the marmoleum floor looks dirty and patchy, you should strip the floor first, then polish it. New or newish marmoleum floors that are unlikely to be sealed, can be polished without stripping.

Old Marmoleum Floors – in a bucket of 10 L of warm water add about 500 ml of floor stripper. Bear in mind that some floor strippers are much more active than others. Check the information on your stripper label. Apply the solution all over the floor, being very careful not to touch painted surfaces, and wait about 5 min. Put a pair of gloves on and scrub all the edges well with a black pad or some rough pad. For the larger areas use a floor buffer and a green floor pad. The floor buffer has to be below 200 RPM (rotations per minute). Scrub the whole area well and extract all the waste with a wet vac. Wash the floor with a neutral floor cleaner and you are ready for polishing.

New Marmoleum Floors – in a bucket of 10 L of water add about 100 ML of heavy duty floor cleaning detergent and mop the floor well. Scrub the edges well and use a blue floor pad in conjunction with a low speed buffer to scrub the rest of the floor. Remove all the waste with a wet vac and allow about 1 hour to dry. Now you are ready for polishing.

If the surface feels a bit rough, you should prime the floor. The best primer is Evans Sealant B. One thick coat will level up imperfections and will create a perfect smooth surface for polishing. Time to polish the floor. Apply one thin coat of floor polish with a flat mopping system. Do not miss any patches and do not overuse the polish. The surface has to look wet but not soaked. Allow about 2 hours to dry. Apply the second coat. Job done

It is highly recommended that you buff the floor well the next day. Using a high speed floor buffer and a red or white floor pad, you can buff the polished area. The heat and the friction from the pad will create a perfect smooth finish and it will increase durability. Maintain your floors with neutral floor cleaners & maintainers like Cleanfast Multi-Shine.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Amtico Floor Polishing

People who own amtico floors know how expensive these floors are and how easily you can make it look very cheap. To maintain your floors elegance and to increase the protection, seal your amtico floor with Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic. This top of the range 100% Irish manufactured floor polish will seal the amtico floor without glazing. The floor will not look very glossy and it will not become slippery. The sealant will only prevent the dirt from penetrating the joins and the grain of your amtico floors. You do not need to be an expert to strip, seal & polish your amtico floors, but for larger floors areas you will need some proper tools. Without a floor buffer and a wet vac, amtico floor polishing can be a pretty challenging job.

Stripping – over the past few years you have used a number of maintainers, polishes, sealers and protectors over your amtico floors. All these products have built up inside the grit of your amtico floor and cannot be removed by mopping alone. You need to use a proper floor stripper to soften up the dirt. Dilute 1 to 10 some floor stripper, 1 part stripper and 10 parts water. Use warm water for better results. Apply the solution all over the floor. Wait about 5 min. Start scrubbing the floor. Wear a pair of gloves to protect your hands and work in well ventilated areas. All the dirt will melt away in contact with the floor stripper and you will notice a thick gel like mixture all over the floor. You need to extract it with a wet vac. Wash the floor twice with a neutral floor cleaner and prepare for polishing. We recommend that you apply only 1 coat of Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic. Seal the floor and waterproof it without glazing it. You can do as many coats of floor polish as you want to, but 1 is perfect. Walk on the floor within 2 hours but keep your pets away for 5-6 hours

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Laminate Floor Polishing

Not all laminate floors can be polished. For the floor polish to be able to attach to the surface, it needs to be applied to porous surfaces. Very glossy laminate floors have very little porosity so the floor polish might not bond well. If your laminate floor is matt or soft sheen, you can seal it with Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic.

A laminate floor is not real wood and it cannot be washed with a lot of water. Use a flat mopping system and a spray to scrub the area well. An alcohol based window cleaner is the ideal laminate floor cleaner. Just spray a small area, allow 30 sec to soften up the dirt and scrub the floor well with a rough or aggressive microfiber flat mop head. Allow about 30 min to dry and apply 1 coat of Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic. One coat should do the job but 2 coats are also possible. You do not want to over glaze the floor to prevent scratches.

Go with the fibre of the laminate. Follow the grout lines. Apply a very thin coat to prevent long drying periods.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Ceramic Floor Polishing

A coat or two of high traffic floor polish will reduce the traffic wear on your tiles and it will increase the floor durability. A ceramic floor fitted in a very high traffic area, is likely to get scratched, stained and patchy. A coat of floor polish will be a barrier between the traffic and the floor itself. You can only seal matt or satin looking ceramic floors. A highly polished ceramic tile will not absorb the polish and the sealer will not last. You cannot seal anti slip ceramic tiles.

Deep clean the floor with a high PH floor cleaner like Cleanfast Floor Clean, scrub the grout well and extract the waste. Any residue left on the floor will be very visible under the polish. Take your time and make sure that the surface is spotless. Allow time to dry and prepare for polishing. Apply one coat of Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic with a flat mopping system. Make sure that the floor polish does not puddle up inside the grout lines. The floor has to look wet but not over wet. Do a second coat about 2 hours later and buff the floor 12 hours later. Use a white polishing pad and a high speed floor buffer. Job done. A floor polished with Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic will provide full protection for about 2-5 years, depending on traffic. Regular maintenance is essential.

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Marble Floor Polishing

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic looks very nice on marble floors but not all marble floors can be sealed. Highly polished marble floors cannot be sealed with a water based floor polish. The floor polish has to be able to penetrate the surface to provide the maximum protection. Glass like polished marble has very low porosity so it is impossible for the sealer to penetrate. But many types of marble floors like travertine, terrazzo or absorbent types of marble floors can be sealed without any problems.

You need to decide if you are looking for a natural finish or a highly polished finish. First of all you will need to deep clean the marble floor and the grout to make sure that the floor is grease free, grime free and fully dry. You need to assess the floor to make sure that all areas are ready for polishing. Scratches and dull patches can be removed with diamond pads but for that kind of work you will need to hire a professional. If you are 100% happy to proceed, you will need to prepare a flat mopping system with a microfiber head, some gloves and a fan.

Pour some floor polish onto the floor, apply the microfiber mop head over it until all the polish is fully absorbed and start polishing the floor pretty much the same way as washing the floor. The surface has to look wet but not soaked. It will fully dry in about 1-2 hours. 1 coat will provide full protection and it will waterproof the floor but if you are after a high gloss finish, you will need to do a second coat of floor polish. A few hours later you can start using the floor. Job done

Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – Lino & Vinyl Floors

The old vinyl and lino floors will look spectacular with the Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic on it. The secret is in preparation. You need to make sure that the floor is spotless, sealant free and fully degreased. A deep clean before polishing is highly recommended. If the floor was sealed before, you will need to remove all the pre-existing finishes before polishing. Two coats of Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic with two hours break between the coats will do the job just fine. No primer needed on lino or vinyl floors.

Do not waste your time and money on cheap, inefficient floor polishes. You want your floor to look great, you want it to look natural and you want it to last for long periods of time. So choose Cleanfast Floor Polish 25% Acrylic – non slip, high coverage area, 100% water based, Irish manufactured universal floor polish and sealer.
