Inhalation: Remove immediately from source to fresh air. Obtain medical attention if any
discomfort continues. Provide rest, warmth & fresh air. When breathing is
difficult, properly trained personnel may assist affected person by administering
oxygen.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing & wash skin with soap & water. Obtain medical
attention if irritation persists.
Eye Contact: Remove any contact lenses before rinsing. Promptly wash eyes with plenty of
water while lifting the eye lids. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Obtain
medical attention if irritation persists.
Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON
VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS! If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach
content doesn’t get into the lungs. Drink plenty of water. Get medical attention
immediately. Provide rest, warmth & fresh air.
Protection of
first aider: Avoid ingestion, inhalation, contact with skin and eyes (see Section 8.)
4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Inhalation: Irritation of nose, throat & airway. In case of overexposure, organic solvents may
depress the central nervous system causing headaches, fatigue, dizziness,
nausea, & intoxication & at very high concentrations unconsciousness & death.
Ingestion: May cause stomach pain or vomiting. Entry into the lungs following ingestion or
vomiting may cause chemical pneumonitis & may be fatal if enters airways
Skin contact: Harmful in contact with skin. Contact may cause redness, irritation & dry skin.
Eye contact: Causes serious irritation to eyes & mucous membranes
4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
The severity of the symptoms described will vary dependant of the concentration & the length
of exposure.
SECTION 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
5.1 Suitable Extinguishing Media: Foam. Dry chemicals, sand, dolomite etc.
5.2 Unsuitable: N/A
5.3 Specific Hazards: Vapours are heavier than air & may spread near ground
to sources of ignition. Avoid breathing fire vapours. Cool
containers exposed to flames with water until well after
the fire is out. Keep run-off water out of sewers and water
sources.
5.4 Special Equipment for the
protection of Fire Fighters: Wear full protective clothing & breathing apparatus.

ground. Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into
watercourses must be immediately alerted to the
Environmental Agency or other appropriate regulatory body
6.3 Methods for Cleaning up: Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into
containers. Do not contaminate water sources or sewer.

SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
8.1 Engineering Measures: No special measures required.
8.2 Personal Protection Equipment:
Respiratory Protection: Provide adequate ventilation in areas of confined space. If
engineering controls do not maintain airborne concentrations
below recommended exposure limits, where applicable an airpurifying
respirator type ABEK (EN 14387) respirator cartridges
must be worn
